About the Classes
  • Rehab class (Beginners):

The Rehab course is for beginners, the less confident and those who rely on a walking aid for assistance. The class moves at a safe, steady rate that allows you to build balance skills and confidence. As part of this class we will teach coping strategies for managing a fall.
  • Prehab class (Intermediate):

The Prehab class is for those who have completed the Rehab course and feel more confident and mobile.  This class contains circuit work, resistance band work, elements of Tai-Chi and some floor-work (optional).

Both Classes are designed to help with your strength, balance and improve your general well-being. Improving your level of fitness can help you avoid many of the common ailments sometimes regarded as diseases of ‘old age’; such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and heart problems as well as declining fitness.

It is possible to train the ‘older body’ to improve balance, strength, muscle power and by doing so reduce the risk of 'age related illness'.  A 12 week course of exercise can dramatically improve your strength, walking, general mobility and fitness. Regular exercise is also associated with reduced stress and improved self-esteem and well-being.  Classes are based on the evidence-based FaME programme for tailored group exercise (Falls Management Exercise).

Age gracefully in the company of like-minded others, with expert supervision.
