What Is Child & Adolescent Physiotherapy?

We are excited to offer a physiotherapy specialty dedicated to the younger patient who has unique life stage needs.  We have expert Physiotherapists with a keen interest in young person’s sports injuries and health and wellbeing. We can assess the underlying causes of your pain then provide effective treatment and advice.  This may include musculoskeletal problems such as:

  • Knee Pain (inc. Osgood–Schlatter's disease)
  • Heel Pain (inc. Sever's disease)
  • Muscle Strains
  • Ligament Sprains
  • Back Pain
  • Trauma (inc. Fractures and Contusions)

We are unable to see patients with neurological or congenital conditions as this is outside of the scope of our expertise.

Who Can Be Treated?

Our specialist physiotherapists are happy to see any child or adolescent under the age of 18 years old.  A chaperone/ guardian will need to be present at the initial assessment for all clients under 16 years old.  If you have child under 8 years old, please call in advance of booking an appointment.  This is so that we can talk through your needs with a clinican and advise if physiotherapy would be the most appropriate service.

Services We Offer

  • Assessment with diagnosis and treatment plan explained
  • Follow-up treatment sessions with guidance on progression
  • Education sessions/ seminars in Schools and Sports Clubs

Our team are experts in diagnosing and treating injuries and will provide both child and parent or carer with easy to understand and helpful advice.
