What are Verrucae?

Verrucae are small viruses that occur on the feet. They are the same as warts on any other part of the body but on the feet they are called Verrucae Pedis. Verrucae are very common in children and are generally pain free. They often look like small cauliflower lumps on the feet and can also contain small black dots in the middle which are capillaries. They can appear as single verrucae or can be multiple viruses covering large surface areas. Verrucae are caused by different strains of the human papilloma virus (HPV) Like any virus, it needs your immune system to see it and then respond to it.

What should I do if I have a Verrucae?

If you have explored over the counter medication and read a little on the internet about Duct tape, Banana skins and Cider Vinegar and found that none of it worked!

If you still concerned about verrucaes or are painful you can seek further treatment from a HcPC Chiropodist or Podiatrist to investigate how best to treat the verrucae virus. It is important to note that with or without treatment verrucae should disappear within 2 years. How can a Chiropodist or Podiatrist help?

After an initial consultation our Chiropodist or Podiatrist will discuss your treatment options. The treatments we offer are; Debridement of the verrucae, strong salicylic acids, cryotherapy ( freezing), Dry Needling or Verrucae surgical debridement. How to Book an appointment?

A Routine Initial consultation is 30 minutes and is £52 which will include assessment and treatment.
